Abstract

This study focused on the development of an Interactive Game-Based Instructional Material for Grade IV Araling Panlipunan. The main purpose of the study was to design and develop five interactive educational games aligned with the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) under the MATATAG Curriculum. The development process followed the ADDIE model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, to ensure the appropriateness and effectiveness of the instructional materials. The developed games aimed to address the observed problems in the classroom such as low learner engagement, difficulty in understanding lessons, and limited instructional materials that promote active learning. The instructional materials were designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and learner-centered, incorporating game mechanics that enhance motivation, participation, and comprehension in Araling Panlipunan. Findings of the study revealed that the interactive game-based instructional materials were appropriate, engaging, and aligned with the learners’ needs and comprehension level. They were found to improve learners’ interest, participation, and understanding of the lessons, making them effective supplementary teaching tools. Hence, the study concluded that interactive game-based instructional materials can enhance the teaching and learning process in Araling Panlipunan by providing meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences for Grade IV learners.
